Broad Aim:
This course is designed as a first year course to develop the students
abilities to communicate positively and effectively, both orally and in
written form in their working environment.
Specific Objectives:
Upon completion of the course a student should be able to:
Communicate with people in official manner
Discuss ideas with others effectively
Write effectively

Theory of Communication
Qualities of Good Communication
Oral Communication (General, non-verbal communication, speech,
telephone etc)
Written Communication (Letter writing, memos, orders,
instructions, messages, report writing etc)
Meetings, Conference
Finding a job (application letter, Curriculum Vitae,
Advertisements, interview)

Assessment:
Your work will be assessed in two ways:
Continuous assessment 50%
Final Examination 50%
